to attract and keep high quality workers are the manager must make the job more interesting, like giving job rotation so that the employee can work in different palace, manager can give job enrichment to give the employee more knowledge , job enlagement give wider task and if the employee get motivated it will increase the sale and it will affect the profit manager can give profit sharing, bonus and commision to the employee.
ReplyDeleteI thought, can add to the quality of Human Resources working in the hotel is the boss or owner of the hotel should give more attention to their workers. For example the increase of their salaries or to provide assistance, facilities, and benefits to their workers.
ReplyDeletethat is right n i agree.. the situation is happened for the owner/manager of hotel side they must always show the good image, quality, brand of their hotel so the occupancy n profit can still high, basicly the owner/manager must have great strategies in Human resources, marketing n finance n also all department. so the owner/employee can still hire a professional workers with a good salary n more facilitate for them, n the other side, the workers must showing their quality of attitude n professionalism so they can compete in the global issue
ReplyDeleteinnovative strategies to attract and keep high quality workers is that by giving them freedom to explore their idea. This mean is that if the workers have any idea, the manager must listen to their idea first and then later decided together whether the idea can be used or not. not only give them freedom but also give them more knowledge and also new experience for them so that they can learn from what has been given to them.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the manager should create job description thus the workers know their own duty and they can work more effective.
ReplyDeleteSecond, the Human Resouces Dept must maintain the employees in a good way, such as create a swing team. So,the employees in certain day can have a holiday and replace his/her job to another people who is on duty. Beside that, they can held a training program for the employee hence they can improve their work performance.
n my opinion, I suggest that the Human Resources department has to concentrate more on satisfying their workers first. When the workers are satisfied and confident of their work, they will give their full attention and the best ability service for the customers.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the company have to train their employees first so that they can feel the confidence in their work. Training program is divided into 3 parts; Induction training which is the introducing of employees with the new working environment and new procedures that are practiced, on-the-job training which occurs in the place of work in which immediate output is expected , and off-the-job training which occurs outside the place of work where employees are challenged to gain new experience and build their confidence.
In order to do this(satisfy customer), the HR department should think of ways that can motivate their employees. Motivation is a very powerful method in order to prompt them working. In marketing, this motivational factors can be classified as two:
1. Financial motivators such as commission, more bonus, piece-rate working.
2. Non financial motivators such as the delegation of authority (by giving some power for employees to make decision, with this, they will feel they contribute to the company's success), job rotation ( to rotate the job so that they won't feel bored) and the last would be the praise. Some managers underestimate praise, but actually, there are some employees who are highly motivated when they have done some great job and managers praise by giving them compliments or a simple word which praise the excellent job that a worker has performed.
These may look simple, but actually, they are very effective in maintaining qualified workers
there are actually many ways to attract good workers. those comments posted by my friends are all ways of attracting good employees.i agreed with annisa's statement that job description should be informed well and then present the job to all applicants then discuss it with them.
ReplyDeletecreate a team work. in some businesses, some positions in work relates with the other position, therefore, workers must build good relationship with each other in order to perform better work.
the other way can be by giving motivations such as rewards, praise, etc.
giving bonuses and extra salaries is necessary to motivate them.if they performed well then extra salaries should be given so that they will feel valued.
as what chennie said, to give training is one of the most powerful motivation strategies. after training, they will feel more confident in doing their works.
more holidays should also be given if they deserve it. setting a target which workers should achieve and rewards them if they achieved the target. thus, they will be motivated to work better.
I think for keep the good quality, we must do atrainning for the worker or we give them like the achievement to support their work. So the worker feel chalange to get that achievement.
ReplyDeleteBeside that the worker can give their idea to make the hotel have a good quality

ReplyDeletei am agree with amel because if we give any gift they will work harder and the quality of the worker are increasing..
ReplyDeletei think as a good manager, we should do the training to the employees. Or we can make a job description to manage and control their job. and also, as a manager can make a special moment such as "employee of the month" so that the employees will try harder to be the best. and the other way, the manager can give a souvenir such as a present or ticket travelling to the employee who already made a good things to the hotel industry.
ReplyDeleteBased on the above topic, apparently they are common issue face by many companies. therefore in order to overcome such issues, hotel management need to have independent appraisal from third party. such appraisal need to be focus to the issues as follow:
ReplyDeletethe result of such third party or consultantion in assesing such problems should be taken as parameter to achieve the company's goal. from the above issues are distinguish as follow:
1. wage level: having this asses is identify, whether the wage level given by the hotel management are properly given.
2. worker satisfaction: this assesment for the purpose of placing the right person in the right position. having determined that the resources who are being placed in a certain position are the right person to do so. a company will achieve its high goal when placing the right person in the right place.
3. working hour and low salary: this is one of the very important issue which need to be taken seriously. having this done, the hotell management will know what are the market price and have the hotel management followed the market price for salary. more importantly, applying long working hours will not give effective performance, in order to do so, the hotel management need to place working shift for the worker, wheree there are employee who work from morning until the afternoon and there are worker will work from afternoon until morning, this is what is being called shift hour.
please be advised, such assesment need to be objective so that objective result can be achieved and the most important thing, the hotel management has to comply to the result given for effectivenes. once the result issue, it can be use a parameter for better performance of the hotel
